Ink scraper blades are one of the essential elements of industrial printing systems. There are many printing systems in use today; however, ink scraper blades are used extensively in the two most common types of these techniques. These two techniques are called Rotogravure and Flexographic printing systems.
The basic function of the scraper blades is the same in both Rotogravure and Flexographic printing systems. Stripping blades are used in both systems to scrape excess liquid ink from the print rollers. This process occurs as the roller rotates inside the ink reservoir, while the blade contacts the roller in parallel and transfers the excess ink on the roller surface back to the reservoir. Although the working methods of rotogravure and flexographic systems are completely different from each other, the scraper blades undertake the same task in both, the removal of excess ink.
