Gum Rosin is a solid form of resin, obtained mostly from conifers, pine and some other plants, where fresh liquid resin is heated and volatile terpene components evaporate. It is translucent and has colors ranging from yellow to black. At room temperature, colophony is brittle, but melts with heat.
Gum Rosin is used in industrial adhesive production, cosmetic-wax production, rubber and tire industry, and paint industry.
