It is one of the nitrogenous fertilizers and contains 21 kg of nitrogen (N) and 24 kg of another nutrient, sulfur (SO 2). It is called "Sugar Fertilizer" by our farmers because it is usually white in color and has the appearance of granulated sugar.
The nitrogen in ammonium sulfate fertilizer is in the form of ammonium. However, some of the ammonium turns into nitrate after a while after the fertilizer is applied to the soil. Thus, both ammonium and nitrate needed by the plant can be met with this fertilizer. In addition, since it contains sulfur, the sulfur requirement of the plant can be met with ammonium sulfate fertilizer. Since this fertilizer makes it easier for the plant to take the phosphorus in the soil, which accelerates the growth of the plants, it is usually appropriate to give it during planting. If less ammonium sulfate is given to the plants than it needs, the development of the plant will be weak.
